Home Our Team Courses IPRO Student Projects Water Projects IPRO OS I Course Pilot Dear IPRO community We are still here, working to adapt IPROs to fit within social distancing parameters, developing future IPRO classes and improving the IPRO experience. We have a full set of courses planned for the summer and fall. Summer 2020 IPROs As of right now, all summer IPROs will take place online. When the Kaplan Institute Building reopens students will be able to use the resources (IdeaShop, team working spaces) but you will not be required to be on campus to finish a summer IPRO. We will update this when we have more information. Fall 2020 IPROs For the Fall 2020 semester, we plan to be back in the classroom, but we will also be offering online sections for the fall to accommodate students that require online options. These online sections will work like most professional development teams work today: meeting synchronously and asynchronously and across different time zones. Please know that we are working hard to ensure you continue having an excellent IPRO experience whether online or in the classroom. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns, Sincerely, The IPRO Office IPRO Department Updates Beginning March 23rd, all IPRO classes will be administered virtually until further notice. Spring 2020 IPRO Day has been cancelled. The class faculty will communicate with further details, although students can feel free to initiate that communication with any specific questions. We recommended to the faculty that they use Google Hangouts or Blackboard Collaborate to interact with students during class time. The Idea Shop use policies have been updated and can be found on the website, Idea Shop Wiki . We will work with the instructors to ensure that the highest quality of instruction is still provided to students. The structure of these classes will change, but students will still have the opportunity to finish meaningful projects within their IPRO classes. Here is an example of how some of the larger workshop classes will run: a video will be posted on blackboard, much like the pitch introductory talk that outlines the goals for the week. Then student teams will be invited to specific meeting times to interact with their instructor. The deliverable schedule will largely remain the same, but the instructors will work with the teams to come to a reasonable final project. Again, students should feel free to contact their instructors. Themed Workshops and Special Projects . Both course options fulfill the IPRO requirement, students can choose to take one of each or two of the same format. -- IPRO Themed Workshops The newly formatted Innovation Workshop IPRO classes are larger in scope and size – each IPRO class accommodates from 50 to 100 students representing a rich diversity of disciplines. Through the workshop model students will break-up into smaller sub-groups to work on a project they truly care about. The faculty team will provide guidance and support but this will be a project students will have a lot of freedom to explore and work on in a hands-on way. The team will work on a rigorous research and development project that will be faculty-led, but still provide students with the agency to make the project their own.
